New Jersey Disc Golf Hall of Fame

Postby Ramsfan1 » Sun Aug 25, 2019 7:07 pm

The PDGA has a national Hall of Fame recognizing important figures in the sport. Many states also have their own State Disc Golf Hall of Fame recognizing influential figures within their state. For those who are unaware , The New Jersey Disc Golf Hall of Fame was established in 2017 by Committee members Frank Gualtieri, Adam Harris and Jeff Mahler. Its purpose is to pay tribute to the people that helped shape the sport in New Jersey and recognize those that came before us- people whose contributions and sacrifices allow us to play the game as we know it today. An induction will occur every two years, and in 2017, we held our inaugural ceremony recognizing Dan "Stork" Roddick, Dan Doyle, Bob Graham and Matt LaCourte. The 2019 class inducted this past May consists of Barry Noakes and Alicia Relano. The ceremonies coincide with the NJ Disc Golf Championships, and each of these inductees is ultra-deserving of this fine honor.

In that spirit, a new link to this website was created by Dave Space that allows you to view the picture biographies of the six current players enshrined in the New Jersey Disc Golf Hall of Fame. Simply click on the "history" tab on the main page then click on the "Hall of Fame" drop down. The six biographies appear. Each bio is a facsimile of the exact one featured on the plaques given to the Hall of Fame honorees.

In addition, anyone who belongs to a disc golf club or participates in the sport is welcome to nominate anyone they wish for consideration to be inducted one day into the NJ Disc Golf Hall of Fame. Simply forward the nominee to one of the Committee Members listed above, and they will be added to the master list of those being considered.

We hope you like the site- and we thank Dave Space for his help in putting this up!
