We want all disc golfers to know that Central Jersey Disc Golf is pushing for the replacement of the current rubber fly pads. Frank and Lou in particular have pressed The Head of Parks, Rick Lear and The Recreation/Open Space Coordinator Eric Gehring to allow for the installation of cement or paver tee pads. WE have emphasized that these surfaces are the preferred throwing surfaces for the disc golf community and really the only thing keeping Thompson from being the best course it could be.
We sincerely thank the 75 people who signed the petition we circulated at last weekend's Horizon Cup and lent their voice to this cause. Hopefully, it will bear fruit in the near future. We will keep all players informed if we get news!

We are continuing a dialogue with the Middlesex County Parks Department regarding the tee pads at Thompson Park. We continue to press the issue of pavers to replace the rubber fly pads. We've been told in the meantime that they ordered several replacement rubber fly pads to replace those that are torn up or worn. Please know we are doing everything we can to convince park officials of the importance of a paver or cement surface. As always, we will continue to inform the playing public of any new developments.
